The VCF enters the elite 'top-30' of Champions

Valencia, who has set French Lille 2-0 on the second day of the group stage of the Champions League, has become this way in the twenty-eighth club to reach the hundred matches in the Champions League.

The Mestalla club has played one hundred games in what is now known as the Champions League, former European Cup, and which has signed a balance of 46 wins, 28 draws and 26 defeats.

The Valencian team debut in this tournament in 1971 in a match against the Union Sportive Luxembourg and after that first participation had to wait nearly thirty years to play in the Champions League again.

Since its debut in the 99-2000 season has participated in seven other editions being its major milestones reached the finals in 2000 and 2001.

In this list of centenarians teams found two Spanish teams: Real Madrid leads the standings with 348 and Barcelona is fourth with 235 games.

The first five positions are filled with Bayern Munich Germany (264), second, the Manchester United (236), third, and Milan (232), fifth.

From this list of twenty-nine clubs are not competing this edition of the Champions League: Liverpool, Inter, Rangers, PSV, Panathinaikos, Sparta Prague, Red Star, Rosenborg and Steaua Bucharest.
